Victoria’s Secret Model? Really?

pretty girl

Sometimes, teenagers believe they will find success in something unlikely.  This is a healthy dream that can motivate them to be successful in art, sports, singing, etc. But sometimes, they believe they will find success in something impossible. Please tell them if their dreams are not realistic and help them to consider other options. We do them a disservice to encourage them to follow an unattainable dream. The streets are full of people who had unrealistic dreams and no back-up plan.

About celinatinsley

Ms. Tinsley is a high school English teacher, who has been in the classroom for 20 years. She has worked as an Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal, but she returned to the classroom to continue being with the students she adores. She has published a book entitled, "Teachers Talk Smack," available through Amazon.com. She has garnered much critical praise with this original work full of charming illustrations and humorous anecdotes about the joys of teaching. Well, she has garnered one review from her best friend at work on Amazon.com. And the book really is the opposite of the joys of teaching. She is currently working on her second book about teaching. By "working," I mean roughly brainstorming in her head.

The streets are also full of people who once had a dream and let it go because others persuaded them to take a more ‘realistic’ option. Those people carry that regret around with them forever. My advice to the young is always ‘follow your dream’. We can never know where it will lead and maybe they are here to show us the way… 🙂
