Hello! I hope to someday be a professional cartoonist. You probably think I’m like, 15 years old. You’re wrong. I’ve held this dream for many, many years and it still has not come true. It may seem impossible, but it is the gleaming ray of hope in a life of darkness. By darkness I mean, I teach high school English. You would lose hope, too. I wanted to name the strip Burned Out, but apparently that page is already taken on WordPress.

I am pushing 40, married with three kids, living in a crumbling house in a bedroom community somewhere in the U.S. I commute an hour each way to work and look over at the other drivers stuck in traffic with me and they hate their lives, too. I’m not suicidal; I’m saved and all, but the wearying drudgery of daily life is taking a toll. If I couldn’t draw comics as my outlet from the stress of each day, I would probably just drop dead. Hope you enjoy your visit. 🙂

  1. Teaching English is challenging and draining but I’ve also found it so rewarding at times. I hope you have those glimmers of hope and motivation too. Keep creating your clever cartoons! You are creating joy for yourself and giving joy to others.

    • Thank you for your inspiring comment. I needed to hear it. Sometimes I feel like just giving up.

      • You’re welcome. We all need to be genuinely encouraged by people who can relate. It is one of the toughest jobs out there. I won’t say keep at it. Instead I’ll say I hope you appreciate all you’re doing and leave or stay for the right reasons.
