Epic Fail

epic fail

Several of my advisory students received progress reports like this. What are they thinking? A “D” requires so little effort, you almost have to exert extra effort to avoid the work required to receive an “F.”

But Why am I Failing?

why do I have an F

Progress reports just went out and my colleagues and I are fielding frantic calls from parents and managing the onslaught of students suddenly concerned about their grades. We are all doing the same thing right now: justifying why the students are failing. Shouldn’t the students be explaining to their parents why they are failing? After all, teachers just enter the points without discrimination. Either the students┬ádo the work or they don’t…why must┬áteachers explain themselves?
